George Benson | In Flight

George Benson | In Flight

George Benson assembled a perfect company of musicians and master producer Tommy Lipuma on the In Flight Lp. From start to finish the experience is one fantastic musical ride, so fasten your seatbelts for an amazing flight. The journey begins with “Nature Boy” a story of young man searching for true love. George tells this story so very well and the musicianship from the supporting cast is superb. Next on the flight schedule is Ronnie Foster’s “The Wind and I”, taking you right to the proper altitude for a smooth ride.

The next track is my favorite selection “The World is a Ghetto”, I love Benson’s arrangement of this WAR classic. This is the selection that brings out the best in George and of the supporting musicians. For that romantic interlude “Gonna Love You More” fits the bill. This is a Valentine favorite that must be included in your love mix. The track that brings down the house is “Valdez in the Country”, on this Donny Hathaway standard George is putting his guitar to work. This is such a feel good song that just makes you want to take a road trip.

Wrapping it up is the Bernard Ighner’s “Everything Must Change”, this story is a life lesson that George vocally delivers. If you have this cd in you collection treasure it and if not make a gallant effort to add it to your music library.
