Klique - Let's Wear It Out!

The New Year can run & start off fresh all it wants. The ecstasy of Funk music will still retrieve the mindset of us old-schooler's still left on standby, ready to go outside & play. And I wanna play.

I wanna go back to the essentials of why groups like Klique should be recognized. And why they were a measure of funk & R&B excellence back in 1982 with "Let's Wear It Out!". An album seriously hard to find. And if it wasn't for some great conversations with true, down to earth funk enthusiasts, I wouldn't & couldn't fathom the memory of such a funk nasty classic.

"Klique" is Isaac Suthers, Howard Huntsberry & Deborah Hunters. 3 individuals who bare witnessed to what most players like myself truly understood & endured about those days back in the early to mid 80's. Those days quite sometime ago made us want to get out & go party, stomp, roller skate, flex & groove! We wanted to funk & wanted to do it on a calendar memo basis. Let's see, Monday thru Friday - Work. Friday & Saturday - Jam The Funk!
Sunday - go to church. And Kliques' game was unmeasured.

By all standards, any jam that blares a sound of the hand claps in the background should automatically draw my attention & yours. It's where the producer chooses to go next with it is what counts. And I guess after I dropped the needle to "Dance Like Crazy (Let's Wear It Out)", then waited a little bit for the rest of the music to catch up, my boogie senses was ready to flow. And it continued in stretches from "I Can't Shake This Feeling", "Pump Your Rump" (turn this one up, would ya'?), "Best Of Love", "Baby You Can Be The One" & so on. This was a perfected Party oriented, collectible old schoolers.

The reason so much so is all in the muscle & stigma of producers Felton Pilate & Michael V. Cooper (Shoop, Shoop). We are talking about a duo who did it all that time along the river banks of Con Funk Shun. They harnested & provided the funky backdrop to 6 of the 8 tracks on "Let's Wear It Out". If you were a big fan of Con Funk Shun & knew the history of their funk, then understand: Felton & Michael came clean with the R&B groove & intended to have you fully use the dance floor. Up & until time for the community center or the head of the household (like Mr. George Jefferson from The Jeffersons) to tell all of you to get up & get out.

This is a hot Funk album. The LP/album is the truth & Klique had many more albums than just this one. People should know about this. Do a google search & find it. You won't regret it.

Peace,

Not really.I'm working on a jazz/rb album, I did an album on my sister Deborah, who most people forget that she is my sister. That album has a lot of interest over seas.Howard lives in the San Francisco area. Our first two albums have been reissued on CD.You can find those on Target.com,Cduniverse.com.
I am working on tracks I did on Klique that were never heard by the record company and have interest in France.

When you say jazz isaac, are you an instrumentalist of some sort, what instrument do you play? It's good to see on on the site my brother. I know my comrades are feelin' the love. I might have to fool around & review your "Love Circles" LP for T, Marv & the fine crew of T.U.M.S.. I jammed the life out of that record man. & Deborah looked all so fine on the back album cover. You guys stretched out for that one.
