Tyrone Brunson - Sticky Situation

Due to the fact that T.U.M.S is celebrating one year on the internet, I thought I would be fitting to do a blast from the past!

Back In the 80’s, there was a popular cartoon, and shortly after that came a dance that everybody could do with out breaking a leg, And to this day, people are still doing this dance in some form or another (only the ones that still have jheri curls can get away with it).

Tyrone Brunson played in Washington D.C. area bands in the seventies, and signed a contract with Columbia records. His first single written and produced by
Otis Redding III (who’s own group, The Redding's, had two albums out already) defied keyboardism. The multilayered bass thumping song was called “The Smurf” . The dance was easy to do (the jheri curl - a must) and it tapped into the New York club dance scene unadulterated. Once the smurf dance craze cooled off, so did Tyrone. But that’s ok, he came back with Sticky Situation, which was another club thumper. After that Tyrone put out two more albums and ended up singing background with Levert.

If Anybody know where Tyrone is let us know.
In the meantime, Let The Urban Music Scene take ya'll BACK!
