Loose Ends - Zagora

The collaborative release from both Virgin & MCA records of "Zagora", back in 1986, had to be one of the biggest projects in the career of legendary group Loose Ends. "Hanging On A String" was indeed the jam, but once Zagora gained the reputation of being one a few amount of albums that can actually allow you to like & play the entire project on both sides, should send in a mention like the one I'm giving by review. Spotless, entertaining & enjoyable to be played over & over again, Loose Ends producer Nick Martinelli from Watchout Productions brought the music! He brought it!

"Stay A Little While Child" actually had a few more remixes that were released separately in the 80's! This classic jam, however, grooved no matter what extra touch of production left to it, especially the old school sound of the cowbells (remember those?); "Slow Down" had to be the ultimate trademark of the Loose Ends sound; The well crafted, slowly driven beats to "I Can't Wait" breaks into a different tempo - mid tempo'd for a possible cha-cha on the spot; "Sweetest Pain" enlightens the listener to the exotic juices of R&B. And Jane Eugene wastes no time harmonizing her ever knowin' voice to the groove...
4 other tracks for the midday groove & afternoon cruise in the convertable are "Ooh, You Make Me Feel", "Who Are You?", "Nights Of Pleasure" & "Let's Get Back To Love" (My Favorite). The breakaway slow cut "You Can't Stop The Rain" brings another parallel of smooth R&B drifting in essence to the 80's sound!
Jane, Carl McIntosh & Steve Nichols are the bomb! These 3 talented vocalists spawned various albums throughout the early to late 80's before they had split up & Carl continued the group with limited success. There is some word out there that Loose Ends is back (Original Members? Can someone confirm it?)! And why not? All they have to do is get on stage and sing this entire CD without question! That & "Hangin' On A String", "Mr. Bachelor", etc, etc, etc.
