Jermaine Jackson - Jermaine Jackson

In 1984, Arista Records dropped one of Jermaine Jackson's projects to date! It spawned numerous, charted singles, including "Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin'" with his brother, Michael Jackson; "Do What You Do" & "Dynamite". The album was produced by your truly, Jermaine & was brought out for replay & induction into the Back In The Day Page!

With support for this album coming from musicians Paul Jackson, Jr., Freddie Washington, Michael Sembello, The Jacksons, Mike Landau, Ronnie Foster, Greg Phillinganes, Nathan East, Ernie Watts, Randy Jackson & a host of musical talent - this project is not a sleeper!
First up, "Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin'". That track got instant gratification when Michael's voice was heard in the chorus line. Just the same way Mike did it for Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me", Jermaine's vocal flavor was also something not to miss. Make no mistake about it: It was Jermaine's voice you heard on background vocals, not Michael's! And to add to the studio musician dept., Catch the guitar flow of Ray Parker Jr in the mix. This song was very popular & I often hear it get played back on various 80's themed radio stations & satellite programs.
"Dynamite" was one of those upbeat, feel good jams that deserved attention too! It was the CUT! Do ya'll remember the video blazin' on MTV back then?
The slow jam "Do What I Do" also recieves the 'welcome mat' for major rotation. Especially on commercial & satellite radio stations.
There's some tracks that I didn't dig, despite replaying them over & over again. Some felt too poppish from Traditional R&B. It could differ amongst many of you, or you may agree. However, the overall value of this project rests on those 3 tracks mentioned above & it still rotates on the turntable whenever I flashback on any given night!
