The Definitive Collection of Kashif

And this may not be the TOTAL collection by him....
In possibly understating this next statement, Kashif was considered one of the most prolific R&B (& some jazz) producers of our time. Especially in the 80's!! Alongside that, he was also a blessed vocalist who gave us some great compositions for himself & many others. One musician & jazz artist who definitely reaped the biggest stardom was the launch of a solo career of smooth jazz icon Kenny Gorelick, his last name which of later becoming just the "G.".
And that was just the beginning. The collaborations & duets that featured Me'Lisa Morgan, Dionne Warwick, Melba Moore & many more later came into his prosperous career. The music he blasted simply jammed the Dance Floor! No doubt, his skills was niche unfolding & his melodies easily could be picked up on the radio radar (back when airplay meant something more than just commercialism).
The track listing is simply a snapshot of what Kashif had to offer! Let's see if ya'll can remember these:
Track Listing:
~ I Just Gotta Have You (Lover Turn Me On)
~ Help Yourself To My Love
~ Are You The Woman
~ Stone Love
~ Dancing In the Dark (Heart To Heart)
~ Love The One Im With (A Lot Of Love)
~ Baby Don't Break Your Baby's Heart
~ Condition Of The Heart
~ Reservations For Two
~ Love Me All Over
~ Loving You Only
~ Ain't No Woman (Like The One I Got)
~ Love Changes
~ Personality
These tracks should be quite apparent if you have them already in your collections. Such as the duet with Dionne Warwick in "Reservations For Two", a beautiful slow ballad which brings back the memory of the once enduring chilvary a gentleman can create for his lover; "Stone Love" was the supreme jam & an instant head knocker!!; "Love Changes" brings together sultry Me'Lisa Morgan & Kashif in ways more can even imagine! Fine classic R&B stands out there!
Many of these gems have a production niche in them, meaning when you hear the sounds, its very easy to distiniguish Kashif from the other players of the game in the 80's & I am still talking about some of those being Jam & Lewis, The Chicago House sounds & more! This collection, however, was missing some cuts. But, I'm sure there will be another collection to come very soon since the sounds of the old school is coming back to harvest!!!
