The S.O.S. Band - III

If ya'll didn't know originally where "High Hopes" came from under the production of Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, please think again! "High Hopes" was the supreme R&B jam (other than "Take Your Time" from their previous project) & helped to propel the careers of Mary Davis & her fine group of musicians coming right back at ya with the Flyte Time production sound that pretty much dominated the airwaves in the mid 80's! For many of you who are serious S.O.S. Band fans, ya'll should know the story & would not need my reminder. The Greatest Hits collections from this supergroup is a must have & should already be within arms reach of your CD's, if not, parked on the sideline for immediate activation!

Track Listing:
~ Can't Get Enough
~ High Hopes
~ Have It Your Way
~ Your Love (Its The One For Me)
~ Good & Plenty
~ Looking For You
~ These Are The Things
~ You Shake Me Up
~ Groovin' (That's What We're Doin')

There were plenty...I mean "Good & Plenty" amounts of cuts off the wax. "Groovin' (Thats' What We're Doin') does just that with the Funk into the R&B mode. Classic S.O.S. there.....; "Can't Get Enough" started the project off with a roller skating groove that sets up the privelence in spinnin' both sides of the vinyl, with EASE!!

I would suggest not only going back to see if you have this & if not, go get it. But also seek out their entire collection of vinyl they jammed back in the 80's. Many R&B purists will argue that when the production of Jam & Lewis disappeared, the groups' soundboard went with it into the early to mid-90s'. No mistaking Mary Davis & her treasured voice, whenever you really do think about Flyte time productions, which doesn't always limits itslef to Jam & Lewis, but to Monte Moir & several other players.....You heard the best of The S.O.S. Band.

Have it your way....(it sounds like the Burger King slogan, doesn't it?
