Mtume - Juicy Fruit
James Mtume & Reggie Lucas must have known the tracks & compositions featured on "Juicy Fruit" may give them instant household name status. The beat & bassline to the Title track is so infectious, the minute you hear the beat break, its pretty much over when it comes to identify the jam! Later on in the years to come, "Juicy Fruit" probably became one of the most sampled songs in Hip-Hop, with the major recognition of such helping to launch the big game for the legacy of Rap music's Notorious B.I.G. AKA Biggie Smalls & the hit single "Juicy"...
But there was other tracks off that album from Mtume that jammed the box!! Make no mistakes about it: The album sold a lot of records, but this R&B group had more on their hands than just this record.
The golden voice of Tawatha made it all clear: Watch out Ya'll! They have arrived!!

"The After 6 Mix" was a pure instrumental combination. I figured maybe they could've dropped a more jazzy flair into the composition, all it really did was make you pick up that needle & go right back to the title track!
More albums followed, but unfortunately, many tracks couldn't come close to the jam of the decade & possibly the jam of all-time! James & Reggie have created some magical moments in their careers (just check their resume), but this album will possibly gain the momentum to the memory of their careers altogether!
