High Fashion - Feelin' Lucky

Feelin' Lucky

Album Review: High Fashion | Feelin' Lucky
By Terrill J. Hanna

Back to the 80's & still rollin'!

Remember a cat who re-introduced us to the reincarnation of the disco ball groovin', roller skate producing, dance oriented themed jams of super R&B group "Change"? Who would have ever known that he would come back to dabble the genre with a threesome vocal talent that has spawned musical careers of 2 of them.....

Jacques Fred Petrus came back then to grace us ultimately with jams so strong, your collection might need to be re-considered. If you thought you had them all & the name High Fashion doesn't ring a bell, then you are in trouble!

"Feelin' Lucky" is it! Straight from the title track on down, this project will have most you remember, in a flash, how prominent Change was to the R&B 80's flow. Not to mention, who would have ever thought that R&B vocalists Alyson Williams & Me'Lisa Morgan had previous flavor on standby? Once you get tapped with "Feelin' Lucky Lately"...forget it (see video below)! Your hooked!! Also after checkin' "Hold On", you'll wonder why you slept on it. Especially with the other given quality: Kashif jammed on this record! His productions are not to be missed! That's Fa Sure!

Track Listing:
-- Feelin' Lucky Lately
-- You're The Winner
-- Hold On
-- Next To You
-- Have You Heard The News
-- When The Lover Strikes
-- I Want To Be Your Everything
-- Brainy Children

Another track for consideration in the immediate playback mode is "You're The Winner" & "Next To You". Overall, you'll find yourself playing the whole album, switchin sides over & over again! Its a well produced & well executed project, which of course left me & many wondering why this deal wasn't repeated throughout those years!
