Philip Bailey | Dreams

Here's a blast from the past ya'll!

Heads Up recording artist and former icon of E.W.F, Philip Bailey serves up some dreamy tracks on his 1999 release, "Dreams" features special guests from the likes of Gerald Albright, Joe McBride, Grover Washington Jr., George Duke, and Morris Pleasure, to name a few. With guests like this, you're in for a real treat! Producer Erik Huber lends some expertise on quite a few tracks making this one smooth album.

Philip has always leaned more toward the jazzy side of things, but this album showcases the best of both worlds; jazz and R&B.

Let's break it down..... Philip does an interesting yet exciting take on Van Morrison's "Moondance.” Guests like Gerald Veasley, Randy Brecker, and Peter White show up to make this the best rendition of an old classic. The album really kicks in at track 4. It’s really SOMETHING how he transitions from smooth to sultry. Track 5, "Make it With You" says it all. Trust me! So grab that special someone and let’s "Sail Away" (#6). Hope you got the top down! Check your system;..can you handle the bass!!!! (#8) What a track! "Are We Doing Better Now" is dripping with heavy bass lines and silky smooth grooves as well as some tasty keyboard riff from George Duke. Pat Metheny stops by to lend a hand on track 9, "Something to Remind You.” Finally, track 10 features more bass lines and a groove mimicking the sample of "People Make The World Go Round.”

Available at CDUniverse.com, this is truly a must have for even the most avid P.B. fan. Some Straight ahead, Jazz, and R&B tones make this a tasty treat for those who appreciate good music!
